Banjir Besar Kajang (1971)

Kg. Jambu, next to the Langat River is the first to be flooded.Kg. Jambu
(1) Kampung Jambu: Kedudukannya di tebing Sungai Langat, menyebabkan ianya kawasan pertama yang ditenggelami banjir.

Menelusuri landasan keretapi ke arah Kajang:-
Kiri (2): Landasan keretapi menghala ke Kuala Lumpur. Kampung Jambu di sebelah kanan, Sg . Chua di sebelah kiri.
Kiri (3): Gurdwara Sikh di Kampung Jambu, bersebelahan pagar landasan.

The former IC department office location.This is the Jalan Sungai Chua outside the shop houses from Kajang Garden which has changed to Desa Bunga Raya. The new flyover is standing over this location.
Kiri (4): Sekitar Pejabat Pendaftaran lama.
Kanan (5): Jalan Sungai Chua, di luar deretan kedai Kajang Garden (kini Desa Bunga Raya, di bawah jejantas).

I believe the railway line between Sungai Chua and the Railway bridge.
(6): Landasan keretapi di antara Sungai Chua dan jambatan keretapi.

The railway bridge over Kajang river, those days its made of iron structure but now replace with concrete. Its location just behind Aked Mara building and TNB Kajang Jalan Reko.

(7) Jambatan keretapi (binaan besi asal, kini konkrit) menyeberangi Sungai Langat, di belakang Arked Mara dan TNB Kajang. Kelihatan landasannya bengkok akibat arus deras.

Kiri (8) Gambar diambil dari atas jambatan keretapi. Kelihatan “River View Garden”, bertentangan tokong “Sea Yea (Sin Sze Si Ya)”, di belakang Jalan Mendaling.

(11) LLN Kajang (kini Kedai Tenaga TNB Kajang), bersebelahan Arked Mara.

The roundabout between Main Street and Suleiman Street, the old bazaar is on the right. Metro Plaza building is occupying this location.Kajang Roundabout with the National Cinema at the rear. On the left is Chiam Kee Chicken Rice Shop which has moved to Medan Selera (beside Kajang Market). If you are turning from the back of Bank Islam as you approach the Kajang Market there is a bridge on the right and the right has an eatery shop is now the present Chiam Kee Chicken Rice Shop.
(12) Bulatan Kajang:-
Kiri: Stesen minyak Shell di tengah. Bazaar di sebelah kanan (kini bangunan Metro Plaza).
Kanan: Panggung National di tengah. Restoran nasi ayam Chiam Kee di sebelah kiri (kini telah berpindah ke Medan Selera di sebelah Pasar Kajang).

The old Kajang Market I believe the present location is the Aked Mara building.Shell Station just in front of Foh Hup Bus Station (ceased operations) now occupy by Metro Plaza Kajang. This Shell Station has moved to Jalan Semenyih just in front Kajang High School (KHS school field)
Kiri (13): Pasar lama Kajang (kini Arked Mara).
Kanan (14): Stesen minyak Shell, berhadapan Stesen Bas Foh Hup (kini tidak lagi beroperasi, tapaknya sebahagian daripada Plaza Metro. Stesen minyak ini telah berpindah ke hadapan Kajang High School, Jalan Semenyih).
