The incident happened at 6pm, when a resident of Madurese descent was riding his motorcycle inside the village premises and knocked down a man from Flores. A heated argument ensued before they went their way. However, three hours later, not satisfied with the outcome, the Madurese man returned with a gang of 10. They descended on the man from Flores near his residence and assaulted him. 'Following a tip-off we rushed to the scnee and stopped the assault,' said Sepang OCPD Superintendent Shukri Dahlan today. Police then checked some residents there for identification. Shukri said 72 Indonesians who did not possess valid travel documents were arrested.
